Our Services

Pastoral Counseling

The FOB Ministries offers short-term (6–8 weeks) one-on-one pastoral counseling for veterans and first responders who need a safe place to process what they’ve been through. Pastoral counseling is not the same as licensed therapy, but it does provide meaningful spiritual care, encouragement, and guidance rooted in faith. We support those facing PTSD symptoms, moral injury, and soul wounds—especially when the weight of past calls, critical incidents, or life experiences feels overwhelming.

Small Groups

The FOB Ministries offers small group sessions and support for both veterans and first responders at different locations across the West Michigan region. These groups are built to be a steady, welcoming place to connect with others who understand the weight of the job and the experiences that come with it. Groups are offered at various times throughout the year. Check the Events tab to view upcoming groups and sign up.

The FOB Ministries will match veterans and first responders with one-on-one volunteer peer support—someone who can listen, relate, and walk alongside them in a steady, practical way. While matches depend on availability, we intentionally work to connect people based on shared backgrounds and lived experiences, so the support feels personal, safe, and understood.

Peer Support

Training & Equipping

The FOB Ministries provides event speakers and workshops designed to help equip churches and Christian organizations to effectively support veterans and first responders. These trainings focus on practical ways to understand their needs, respond with care, and walk alongside them with wisdom and compassion. We also offer leadership development for these same organizations, helping teams grow stronger and more prepared to serve well.
